How do floor mounted air conditioner units work?

Floor mounted air conditioner systems use two separate units to control the temperature of the air within a room.

The indoor unit draws in the warm air and pushes it through piping to the condenser unit. The condenser unit is installed in an outer wall and uses refrigerant to cool the air. Warm air and moisture then pass outside, and the cooled air is sent back to the main unit and pushed back out into the room.
