Ceiling Suspended Air Conditioning Systems
Suspended air conditioning units are fitted to the ceiling to provide fast and effective cooling in large spaces.
Suspended air conditioner units, sometimes referred to as ceiling suspended air con units, fit directly onto the ceiling and feature swing louvres which effectively distribute cool air around a large space.
Ceiling suspended air conditioning systems provide programmable and energy efficient cooling and are connected to an externally mounted condenser and heat exchanger using pipework. These air con units provide variable cooling from four vents and are generally installed within the centre or at multiple ceiling points within the room.
Although slightly less discrete than cassette aircon units, modern suspended air conditioning units are slim, lightweight, unoffensive in appearance and extremely quiet when in operation.
Ceiling Suspended air con systems are usually installed in the centre of the ceiling, but in very large spaces multiple units may be required for fast and efficient heating and cooling.
This type of suspended aircon unit is ideal for:
- Large open plan spaces
- Spaces that don’t have a false ceiling
- IT networking computer rooms
- Server rooms.
Ceiling suspended air conditioners provide a higher-powered cooling function than wall mounted air con units. This makes ceiling suspended aircon units ideal for larger computer and server rooms with two or more server racks of low density servers.
Suspended air conditioning units are often found in very large spaces that require powerful and effective cooling, like offices, shops, restaurants, and server rooms.
How do suspended air conditioner units work?
Suspended air conditioner units are a type of split AC system that offer very fast and effective temperature control.
Air is drawn into the main ceiling unit and then transferred through piping to a separate condenser unit. The condenser unit must be installed in an outside wall.
The air is cooled inside the condenser unit, warm air and moisture escape outside, and the cool, filtered air is returned to the main unit and distributed back around the room.
Benefits of suspended air conditioning
There are plenty of advantages to choosing a suspended air conditioner unit for your commercial space, including:
- Produces a steady flow of air over a large area.
- Extremely quiet when in operation, causing minimum disruption.
- Slim and lightweight designs.
- Quick and easy to install.
- Simple to clean and maintain.
- Cost-effective
- Models available with multi-directional airflow.
- Programmable and energy-efficient.
- Controlled remotely.
