The Importance of Kitchen Ventilation Systems

Every commercial kitchen should have a sound commercial kitchen ventilation system. Such is the importance of kitchen ventilation that installing such as system is as important as the cleanliness of the environment.

UK health and safety regulations dictate that all commercial kitchens must have sufficient kitchen ventilation. Any kitchen that fails to comply with such regulations runs the risk of being prosecuted and fined.

Commercial kitchens produce a large amount of heat. This can be found in the form of fumes and vapours. Efficient ventilation is essential for such heat to be dispelled to a safe, external location.

The importance of safe extraction system cannot be understated. Sufficient ventilation systems may well be a health and safety system, but they also promote a safe and secure kitchen environment. They enhance the morale of employees and encourage productivity. Consider the pressure of a busy commercial environment. Ventilation systems filter the hot air from the kitchen, creating a cool, comfortable kitchen.

There is so much to ventilation systems than the release of air. Gas interlock systems are imperative for commercial kitchens. Restricting the gas flow to burners in areas of insufficient ventilation they are paramount for health and safety. When coupled with a fire suppressant system that detects and puts our fire, you can rest assured that your environment is completely safe.

In addition to the aforementioned advantages, good ventilation systems provide sufficient air for complete combustion. This will help prevent the risk of carbon monoxide infesting the environment. This provides assurances that the area is safe and will not become a hazard.

Always remember to keep ventilation systems clean at all times. Should these ventilation systems be at risk from a build-up of fat residue, resulting in blocked inlets, this will lead to a greater risk of fire.

These are just a few of the considerations that must be taken into account when considering kitchen ventilation systems. Having the right environment for your kitchen staff will enhance productivity no-end, an unhealthy environment will decrease productivity.
